Kitchen & Bath Design Specialist
- Design plans to be safe and to be compliant with the ADA. Coordinate with other professionals, such as contractors, architects, engineers, and plumbers, to ensure job success.
- Inspect construction work onsite to ensure its adherence to the design plans. Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) and related software to produce construction documents.
- Advise client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and use of furnishings or equipment, and color coordination.
- Prepare kitchen and bathroom designs in 20-20 software, record and attach designs to related customer folders in a timely manner.
- Confer with client to determine factors affecting planning interior environments, such as budget, architectural preferences, and purpose and function.
- Estimate material requirements and costs, and present design to client for approval.
- Formulate environmental plans to be practical, esthetic, and conducive to intended purposes, such as raising productivity or selling merchandise.
- Design spaces to be environmentally friendly, using sustainable, recycled materials when feasible.
- Associate’s Degree, or foreign equiv, in Interior Design, Architecture or related field req. No exp req. Proficiency in CAD, in-depth knowledge of cabinet systems and finishes, ability to visualize and sketch design plans as per client goals, sourcing products and materials, determining costs and inspecting construction to ensure alignment with design specifications are met. Require to travel to jobsites within Washington DC metro area.
